A bust!!

Well the Honesdale Festival of the Arts was a big waste of time. Only about half the stuff was handmade (I was assured it would all be handmade), and I was contending with $2 earrings and almost no customers to speak of. It was more like a low-end craft fair circa 1970! I did however get to spend time with my friend, and get a taste of small town life. I love some of the cute shops in town like Selina's Giving Tree, which is now carrying my jewelry and purses, and yummy ice cream stand on the corner. I'm off to Lake George where I'm going to help my roommate get their cabins ready for the summer season. Honesdale Festival of the Arts

It's that time of year again, and I'm gearin' up for my first festival. It's the Honesdale Festival of the Arts in Honesdale Pennsylvania. Come on out for what is sure to be a fabulous weekend, May 22 &23. I've added purses, totes, and baby quilts to my wares, and can't wait for their launch at this fun and festive event. Fall Markets

Just sold my jewelry at the BUAM this past Sunday! What a party. Started out slow, but picked up with people dancing, Matt playing his congas with several local drummers, and terrific sales. I plan on doing this market again at least once this month. Next time, I'll post before I do the market, not after (sorry). I also plan on doing the Chelsea Craft Market in October and the St. Anthony's Church Market soon. I'll keep you posted.

New Show!

It's been 9 months since I've blogged, but it has been 9 months of moving from one place to the other, making jewelry, making contacts and planning a wedding. I am planning a move to New York City in June, getting married June 13th in Las Vegas, and applying for jobs, internships, and residencies. When I sit back and look at what I do, it amazes me that I can sleep. It is just constant go go go! August 29th at Kobo Gallery in Seattle, I will be having a show featuring my electroformed and enamel work. It has been about eight years in the making and I'm finally getting to showcase the results. Here is a little sneak peak. The first two pieces: "Anenome" and "Antarctic Iceberg".

Kobo Gallery

Over the last couple of years I have expanded my business by selling in a wide variety of boutiques. Now I have tried to create pieces specifically for those boutiques so as not to saturate the market with the same old same old. Pattern Earrings

I created a whole new line of earrings that are most beautiful. I am using Japanese patterned prints through a screen printing process and they are coming out just fabulous. I did a whole bunch yesterday that will be up on my website today.

I've been shopping a little on-line and have discovered some wonderful black owned beauty business's that look pretty amazing. Matching my skin tone is a challenge because I am bi-racial and tend to have blotchy areas. Too much workin', not enough fun!

So when I finally arrived back in L.A. I immediately started the job search. It didn't take long, and I landed one a half block from Newport Beach. SCORE!! Only problem is that it is taking up way too much of my jewelry time. I'm gonna curb that this week, and hopefully all things will go well. At home

So I'm back in Cali. I was loving the sun, and then bam!...rain! So for like three days now it's been overcast and rainy and I'm confused. It's weather I'm used to, so I'm dealing. I've taken some time lately to get back to creating some silver jewelry. I was inspired to create the interstellar necklace by the wonderful spiral pattern. While making it, I wanted to add an enameled element, so the top circle has little holes drilled into it where I then put some enamel. The name interstellar is from one of John Coltrane's albums. I've always loved that title, and it was the first thing that came to my head when making this necklace. The other necklaces are simple designs that let the vintage button and cabochons show their stuff. The black and white flower is an old button, and the sunburst is an old cabochon.
