Kobo Gallery

Over the last couple of years I have expanded my business by selling in a wide variety of boutiques. Now I have tried to create pieces specifically for those boutiques so as not to saturate the market with the same old same old. Here are a couple of pieces you can find at Kobo Gallery and store in Seattle Washington. They will also be hosting a show of very special pieces of mine on August 29th, 2008. All are welcome. More information to come soon.

Products

I've been shopping a little on-line and have discovered some wonderful black owned beauty business's that look pretty amazing. Matching my skin tone is a challenge because I am bi-racial and tend to have blotchy areas. I just purchased, but haven't received yet, some mineral powders by http://www.blacminerals.com/about.html ( I'm very excited !) I also bought some hair stuff from www.carolsdaughter.com. I saw this little store in Brooklyn NY this past summer and didn't stop in and should have. All of these links I got from going to www.afrobella.com. I'm very excited and I'll report back when I've used my new products!!

Too much workin', not enough fun!

So when I finally arrived back in L.A. I immediately started the job search. It didn't take long, and I landed one a half block from Newport Beach. SCORE!! Only problem is that it is taking up way too much of my jewelry time. I'm gonna curb that this week, and hopefully all things will go well. I have lots of new stuff up on my website: www.tanyamoniquejewelry.com, so take a look and let me know what you think. The butterfly necklace was a special order that I finally finished, and the jellyfish is also something I started a while ago and just got done with. The jellyfish necklace and another like it with hand painted crabs are for sale at jaywalk, www.jaywalkseattle.com.

At home

So I'm back in Cali. I was loving the sun, and then bam!...rain! So for like three days now it's been overcast and rainy and I'm confused. It's weather I'm used to, so I'm dealing. I made some jewelry for Etsy, and I'm going to make a line of these vintage buttons set in silver. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9739948

Love and all that good stuff!

I've taken some time lately to get back to creating some silver jewelry. I was inspired to create the interstellar necklace by the wonderful spiral pattern. While making it, I wanted to add an enameled element, so the top circle has little holes drilled into it where I then put some enamel. The name interstellar is from one of John Coltrane's albums. I've always loved that title, and it was the first thing that came to my head when making this necklace. The other necklaces are simple designs that let the vintage button and cabochons show their stuff. The black and white flower is an old button, and the sunburst is an old cabochon.

Goin' back to Cali!

I'm moving back to southern California for a minute to regroup, get some sun, and brighten up my jewelry. I will then be moving to NYC in the spring/summer time. I'm looking forward to the respite.
